Tour Overview

This trip begins in Zambia visiting South Luangwa National Park and Victoria Falls ending with an excursion to Cape Town in South Africa. This combined tour will give you a comprehensive look into the diversity of Africa. From the southern tip of the Great Rift Valley in South Luangwa National Park to the raging waters of Victoria Falls and the bustling metropolis of Cape Town, your trip will be filled with new experiences, sights, sounds and smells.

The South Luangwa National Park, also known as The Luangwa Valley marks the end of the Great Rift Valley, is one of the last unspoiled wilderness areas and possibly the finest wildlife sanctuary in Africa. It covers an area of over 9000 sq. km. through which the meandering Luangwa River runs. Victoria Falls, also known as “Mosi oa-Tunya” (“the smoke that thunders”), is positioned almost exactly half way along the mighty Zambezi River’s 2700 km journey from its source to the sea. Here the river plunges headlong into a 100m vertical chasm spanning the full one-and-a-half kilometer width of the river, creating the biggest curtain of falling water in the world and also one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

In Cape Town, your days will be spent exploring the culture and history of the city and its surroundings. You will also engage in a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula, which involves stunning views, long golden beaches, the jackass penguin colony, and the Cape of Good Hope – Africa’s most southwestern point. Your final day will be spent in the winelands, north of Cape Town, touring the many vineyards and wineries that are making South African wines some of the most popular in the world.

Everything was perfect! Guides were wonderful!

Everything was perfect! Guides were wonderful! I especially loved the Chitwa Chitwa. The experiences here were fabulous, including eating dinner with a family of elephants, including a baby. From our room and the lodge we saw a herd of Hippos, crocodiles in the morning and two lions. On the drive we saw an Impala in a tree which had been killed by a lion. Then shortly thereafter we saw a leopard leap up into the tree to eat the impala. We also went to an art opening, and liked a painting so much that we decided to buy it and take it home. It was her first painting to sell and she was so happy she gave it to me. I hope in some way my trip to South Africa, may have changed this student’s life, who will now have more confidence as an artist.

We had an amazing time

We had an amazing time. Africa exceeded every expectation that we had. The weather was outstanding, the food was good. The guides (with the exception of Johannesburg) were great. I only wound up taking 687 pictures. I’m now trying to get these into my computer and into a file that I can send to my friends. They all want to see what we experienced. I have mentioned Yampu several times to friends, telling them how pleased we were with your services. We won’t hesitate to recommend you and Yampu in the future. Thanks for playing such a great role in making this a most unforgettable vacation.

Can’t think of a single thing we didn’t love about the whole experience

Can’t think of a single thing we didn’t love about the whole experience. From the phone conversations with Yampu to the representatives who met us at each airport and hotel everyone was great. And the properties they set us up with?! Amazing! Their own websites didn’t do them justice. Every day was better than the day before so every day you saw me was the best day of my life.
