Tour Overview

Be prepared to dive into an exciting Balinese cultural immersion! Experience a local’s typical way of life by visiting their home and observe their family temples within their homes each facing Mount Agung, the home of the Gods. The families will demonstrate how to make the typical Balinese offerings as well as permit guests to take their own creation to the family temple. Take time with these families to attempt traditional recipes in a hands on cooking class and enjoy the completed meal for lunch.

By day visit coffee and rice plantations and learn of the manner in which they are cultivated by the Balinese. In the afternoon, visit the temple of Tanah Lot, which is perched on a rocky islet and is only accessible at low tide. During this splendid visit to Bali one can see several typical dances such as the Barong and Keris dances which portray the eternal struggle of good and evil or the Kecak dance performance designed to tell the story of an external love tale between Rama and Shinta.

Guests will also be provided with the opportunity to visit the Monkey Forest- home to a vast population of macaques and then drive further on to Ubud to visit their local market as well as the Ubud Palace, which is still occupied by the Royal Family. In the evening, the palace is still responsible for hosting some of Bali’s most renown dance performances such as the Legong Dance, Barong Dance, Ramayana and Mahabrata ballets.

One of the final experiences offered to guests on this tour is the privilege of joining a blessing and purification ceremony at Dalem Pingit Temple, which is considered a small, rather old temple near the river in the Sebatu Village. The temple is located on the banks of the river near a bathhouse and a waterfall. There is said to be a legend explaining how the waterfall has been known to cure many various diseases and it is the guardian of the temple who will lead visitors to the Dalem Pingit Temple to make their offerings.

Private Half Day Mangrove Tree Planting.

Mangroves are ecologically important in maintaining and building the soil, and acting as a home to many fish and crustacean species who are dependent on them to provide nursery areas. In addition to preventing erosion, mangroves are used in textiles, mats, and paper and are even the staple food in some areas. Bali is a small island and is especially susceptible to erosion in its southern areas.

Today, guests can spend some time helping to preserve the precious mangrove environment in this area.
