Tour Overview

Explore the Chilean side of Patagonia with Torres del Paine National Park, home to beautiful mountains, large glaciers, and rich lakes and rivers; this is a very popular destination for Yampu travelers. Enjoy a full day of activities in the wilds of Patagonia including hiking, horse-riding or kayaking.

Located in the southern extreme of the Patagonia is the largest ice field in the world, Glacier Grey. This enormous glacier continuously melts slowly into Lago Grey, and provides spectacular crashing ice and colorful blue and green icebergs. During this memorable excursion, you will also visit Santiago, Chile’s dynamic capital, prior to visiting the lake.

Head to Santiago with a stop in the Casablanca Valley for a delicious wine tasting. Take in the stunning, panoramic views of Santiago de Chile atop San Cristobal Hill. This trip can be customized to fit your individual travel dates and any specific requests you may have. Your travel consultant will prepare a customized itinerary for you.

Prices include round-trip airfare from Santiago to Punta Arenas, hotel accommodation including daily continental breakfast, four night all inclusive accommodation program in Torres del Paine, guided tours in English including all entrance fees, all transfers between airports and hotels with assistance and baggage handling, and meals where specified. Local airport taxes that are payable in the country of destination are not included. Taxes and security fees that can be paid at time of ticketing are already included.

Reception at Santiago airport and transfer to a selected hotel in the heart of the city.
This afternoon enjoy a private city tour of Santiago. The tour starts from the Funicular de Santiago (Gondola), which provides a stunning and panoramic view over the city from the top of San Cristobal Hill. Then travel to the heart of the city and Plaza de Armas the spot from where the city has grown throughout the centuries. Each Latin city has a plaza de Armas as when cities were founded the center was also were the armory and military base was established - hence the name Plaza de Armas (Plaza of Arms). Visit some of the more important buildings such as the Cathedral, the City Council, the Central Post Office and the National Historical Museum.
Continue to the Presidential Palace La Moneda; the current seat of the government. Wander the streets that were once elegant at the beginning of the 19th century and now are a commercial center. Also visit some of the original colonial neighborhoods such as Concha y Toro Square. Characterized by its cobbled streets and old mansions that reflect the elegance and richness of the early twentieth century the neighborhood grew to prominence between 1870 and 1876 with the influx of wealth as a result of mining and the discovery of Silver. Many Chileans achieved great wealth, including Enrique Concha y Toro founder of the famed winery. Return to the hotel for the evening.

Private Casablanca Valley with Valparaiso and Vina del Mar

This morning be met at the hotel and transferred to the Casablanca Valley, approximately 50-miles (80-kilometers) from Santiago. The Casablanca Valley is one of Chile’s most important regions for cultivating the grapes that produce crisp white wines, most notably Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Here, enjoy a tour, tasting and lunch at one of the local wineries situated along this thriving wine route.
After lunch, leaving the Casablanca Valley, visit Valparaiso, the oldest and most important port in Chile. Here, there will be an opportunity to walk along the city’s winding streets and enjoy the scenery and culture of this charming port-city. Continue to Vina del Mar, a resort city that was founded in 1874, famous for its beautiful gardens and flower clock. Late in the afternoon return to the hotel in Santiago. Lunch is included today.

Torres del Paine National Park

After breakfast, there is the opportunity to stay and enjoy the hotel’s amenities or explore the wonders of Torres del Paine National Park during the adventure of choice, length and difficulty. Set out with the group and guide to experience Patagonia’s main attractions and landscapes. Wander and hike around the ancient forests, lakes of different and intense colors, rivers, mountains and glaciers. The flora and fauna will take one's breath away. There will be time to stop and take in the beautiful surroundings during the box lunch. After the excursion return to the hotel for the night. There is a great Chilean house wine selection to enjoy with dinner.

Today visit a different area of Torres del Paine National Park or enjoy one of the many onsite activities available. Torres del Paine National Park has many distinct ecosystems. Each contains widely different landscapes, which in turn sustain different flora and fauna, some found nowhere else on earth. Some of the main attractions of the park are viewing the Towers rising towards the sky like three perfect granite arrows; and one of the most beautiful destinations within the park, Grey Glacier.
