Tour Overview

Explore Peninsular Malaysia with this Yampu tour. Starting in the gleaming city of Kuala Lumpur, you’ll take a winding river journey into the exciting rainforest of Taman Negara, tour the picturesque steps of tea plantations in the Cameron Highlands and take an in depth look at the island culture of Penang. Experience a land as rich and diverse as the cultures of the people who inhabit it. .

The city of Kuala Lumpur offers both an historical perspective of the many architectural influences on its buildings and an exciting glimpse at the future of city planning. When you’re not admiring the structural splendor, you’ll be fully engaged in some of the most exciting markets and delicious food that have been born of the confluence of Indian, Chinese and traditional Malay cultures.

A languorous river ride from outside Kuala Lumpur transports you to Taman Negara. Considered to be one of the oldest rainforests in the entire world, at an estimated 130 million years, it is Malaysia’s greatest national park. Covering an area that is twice the size the country of Luxembourg, its rich jungles cover a swath that encompasses over 2,500 square miles and extends across three states. Within its impenetrable depths is an ecosystem comprised of ancient trees, massive root systems, exotic orchids and lush ferns that are buzzing with a world of animals.

A short distance to the north, situated over 5,000 feet above sea level, the inherent beauty and cool temperate climate of the Cameron Highlands offers travelers reprieve from the hot and sticky heat of Malaysia’s lowlands. Here, in Malaysia’s most extensive hill station, the rolling hills roll into the vast expanses of the plateau and are blanketed in lush emerald green tea plantations and forests. The Cameron Highlands also functions as a transfer point to the island of Penang, a newly (only 300 years old) developed piece of land that is an excellent distillation of the many cultural influences you will encounter in your tour of Peninsular Malaysia.

Though our time was short, our agent was able to include all our requested stops

A friend & I just completed a 10 day tour of Southeast Asia (Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand) that was compiled by Yampu Tours. Though our time was short, our agent was able to include all our requested stops while adding some very interesting side tours, all within our budget. Everything and everyone we encountered were great: guides, hotels, flights, train, food, tours, and service.

Thank you for making our stay fun and memorable!

We had a wonderful trip! Yampu was wonderful in giving us different options to make our trip more customized to suit our needs. Our guide was also very knowledgeable and helped make our stay in Singapore fun and effortless. We all enjoyed the itinerary- not too packed with activities and everyone enjoyed the gardens, the animal safari, and city tour. The bus and vans we rode in were comfortable and the air conditioner was much welcomed in the tropic heat!

Our SE Asia trip was awesome.

Our SE Asia trip was awesome. It would take too long to go into even the highlights of the trip, because there were so many. Your people on the ground in Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong were terrific but the Kuala Lampur guy not so much. Best/highest kudos go to Sylvie in Bangkok who we feel went the extra mile to not only host us and show us around, but to take care of us like a mum on tours and events and even on our days of leisure. Our guy in Singapore and Christina in Hong Kong were merely excellent. The hotels were wonderful but we would stay at the Marina Bay Hotel in Singapore next time. What an awesome place that is. We have over 700 photos and a hundred stories about our experiences in these exotic lands.Thank you so much and your people and your colleagues for making this such a memorable trip for us.
