Places You'll See

  • Oslo

Oslo is surrounded by the vast forest area of Nordmarka, a great area for team-building activities. Within easy reach, it is possible to go hiking, biking, Nordic walking, or canoeing on one of the many lakes. Winter boasts the opportunity for great skiing, both downhill and cross country, tobogganing, and horse sleigh rides. For those wishing to enjoy a more relaxing activity, wrap up warm and savor a tasty cup of hot chocolate in a lavvo.

  • Lillehammer

Lillehammer is a charming mountain town best known as the host city of the 1994 Winter Olympic Games. Located along the shores of Lake Mjøsa and surrounded by forests and mountains, the town offers a welcoming atmosphere, colorful wooden buildings, and easy access to outdoor adventures year-round.

  • Åndalsnes

Åndalsnes is a small town dramatically situated at the head of the Romsdalsfjord and surrounded by towering mountains, making it one of Norway’s most scenic destinations. Often called the “Alpine village by the fjord,” it serves as a gateway to the spectacular Romsdal Alps and offers access to some of the country’s most breathtaking natural landscapes.

  • Geirangerfjord

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Geirangerfjord is one of Norway’s most iconic natural wonders, famed for its emerald waters, cascading waterfalls like Seven Sisters and Bridal Veil, and steep cliffs. Surrounded by dramatic mountain peaks, it’s a paradise for hikers, photographers, and cruise enthusiasts. Visitors can explore its quaint village, experience traditional fjord farms, or marvel at the views from the winding Eagle Road.

  • Ålesund

Famous for its striking Art Nouveau architecture, Ålesund is a coastal city spread across several islands at the entrance to the Geirangerfjord. With nearby mountains, fjords, and a vibrant harbor, Ålesund offers a perfect blend of cultural and outdoor experiences, including access to stunning viewpoints like Aksla.

  • Bergen

Arctic Adventure – Norway & Svalbard

My father and I travelled to Svalbard, Norway, this summer. This was our third arctic circle trip in 8 years set up by Monica at Yampu (Iceland, Finland and now Norway), and were each outside the normal Yampu destinations (showing their flexibility). Our itinerary was originally prepared for Greenland but evolved into the Svalbard expedition. Since our interest was in wildlife, Monica made sure that we would be satisfied in our quest for photographing animals–from a remote lodge in Costa Rica, to a remote outpost on the Finnish-Russian border in a bear blind; to a reindeer farm in Alaska; and this time a walrus colony in the Arctic. Yampu mixes luxury and comfort where possible along with a rugged experience that endears you to each location. Every transfer was met, and even small details (like my birthday) were accounted for in surprising way. In a short number of days (9 days total), time was given to visit Oslo and experience the city and culture on the bookends of the trip. Ultimately, after using other travel firms in the past, we will never look back. Yampu is AMAZING!!
