Overnight international flight to Lusaka.

Arrive at Lusaka International Airport and transfer to the flight from Lusaka to Mfuwe. Arrive at Mfuwe airport, then reception and transfer to the lodge of choice in South Luangwa National Park. Enjoy dinner and the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

At dawn, breakfast is served around a campfire. The porridge heated on the fire and toast cooked by the coals. The morning walk or drive will leave soon after. The game in the area is excellent and includes many family herds of elephants and the endemic species of giraffe, known as the Thornicroft Giraffe. A mid-morning break of tea, coffee and cake will be taken at a scenic point on a lagoon or the Luangwa River. Return to camp for lunch around mid day. After lunch cool off around camp or siesta. This could be an ideal day, depending on the heat and time of year, to explore the park possibly with an all day picnic drive, or choose instead to visit one of the local communities. This community tourism initiative is a great opportunity to meet local people and experience life in a real non-tourist village. After breakfast, set off on a tour of Victoria Falls. Victoria Falls is over 150 million years old. It reaches its zenith in May of each year. It’s a truly awe-inspiring experience; it inspires a humbling feeling that the falls are indeed a natural wonder of the world. This tour is conducted in the morning and afternoon. En route, journey past the ‘Big Tree’ where to stop and take photos. Take this journey with a qualified guide who will give a brief history of the falls themselves as well as detailing the flora, fauna, birds & wildlife and other points of interest. Early breakfast and then transfer by ground to Kasane in Botswana. Upon arrival in Kasane, reception and transfer to the Chobe Game Lodge within the National Park. Once at the lodge, choose to relax and enjoy the surroundings or take part in one of the lodge’s afternoon activities; from land or water based activities, to a sunset cruise, before returning for dinner, traditional dance performances, and perhaps some stargazing led by the experts on hand.

Awake early to partake in a morning game drive, with a choice of doing so by land or water. Because mammals are most active in the low heat of the mornings and evenings, this time will provide the best viewing chances. Return to camp for lunch and relaxation, before choosing to embark on another game drive or a sunset cruise to enjoy a few sundowners.
