Tour Overview

One of the Can’t-miss experiences when exploring the pristine landscapes of the Caucuses is witnessing The Beauty of Georgia. From taking in the astounding mountain views from monasteries perched high above small villages to exploring ancient cave cities and traversing through pristine canyons, the Beauty of Georgia tour frames an astounding visual treat.

Landing in Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi, visitors will head just outside of the city to the religious center of Georgia to take in the elegant architecture of The Church of Jvari and Svetitskhoveli. Following the religious exploration, travelers will walk along the intricate Cave City of Uplistsikhe before continuing to the western part of Georgia to Kutaisi city. En route along the scenic Rikoti Pass, travelers will make stops at the local pottery and farmers’ markets for a taste of the rural country life of the locals.

Departing Kutaisi, travelers will venture through Prometheus Cave & Martvili Canyon to take in the impressive natural landscape carved and shaped by the azure waters of the Abash river. Explorers can hike, swim an even boat along the river and take in its lush greenery before departing to the mountainous region of Svaneti and admiring one of the highest concrete arch dams in the world.

Leaving Svaneti, the tour continues on to the coastal city of Batumi on the shores of the Black Sea. Here, travelers will enjoy the rich flavors of the coastal community while touring the old town, verdant botanical gardens, and ancient fortresses before moving inland to a resort town in central Georgia named Borjomi. Here, visitors can relax and restore in the well-known mineral springs before returning to Tiblisi to finish the tour.

Mtskheta, Gori & Uplistsikhe Tour

This morning, depart to Mtskheta (276 km/172 miles, approx. 5 hours) the ancient capital of the early Georgian Kingdom of Iberia. In Mtskheta, we are going to visit two UNESCO World Geritage Sites: Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, built in the 11th c., and Jvari Monastery built in the 6th c.

From Mtskheta, we will arrive in Gori and visit the museum of Joseph Stalin. The museum still has a Soviet-era architectural style and consists of Stalin's memorial house, exposition building with tower, and personal room with belongings.
We will then depart to Uplistsikhe, an ancient cave complex that is considered the oldest urban settlement discovered on the territory of present day Georgia. The complex is comprised of many tunnels, caves, halls, streets and walls carved in stone.

Our tour continues to the western part of Georgia as we depart for the third largest city of the country, Kutaisi. On our way to Rikoti Pass, we can make a few stops at the local pottery and farmers' market. We are going to sightsee the two major attractions around the city - Gelati Academy and Monastery and Bagrati Cathedral, both built during the Georgian Golden Age and listed as World Heritage by the UNESCO. Prometheus Cave & Martvili Canyon Tour

Today, we will depart from Kutaisi to explore Prometheus Cave (73 km/45 miles, approx. 1.5 hours) - one of the most popular and largest caves in Georgia. The Cave has a 1.8 km long trail open to visitors, full of various types of stalactites, stalagmites, underground rivers and lakes.

From Prometheus cave, we will continue our trip to another natural landmark - Martvili Canyon, created over millions of years by the Abasha river. Enguri Dam Tour

This morning after breakfast, we will depart to Svaneti (182 km/113 miles, approx. 4.5 hours) - a mountainous region in the Caucasus. Before our arrival, we will make a stop at the Enguri Dam. This hydroelectric dam was built on the Enguri River and is one of the highest concrete arch dams in the world. Afterwards, we will arrive in Mestia, administrative center of Svaneti. Overnight in Mestia.

Optional Tour: You can begin your optional Svaneti exploration tour with a visit to the Margiani Museum that presents authentic local ways of life of the Svan people. Next visit will be the Svaneti Museum of History and Ethnography in Mestia. Ushguli Community Tour

Today, you will depart to Ushguli Community (100 km/62 miles, approx. 3.5 hours). It is possible to make an additional trip to Ushguli community from May to October on a 4x4 jeep. Ushguli is a community in Svaneti that consists of 4 different villages. Situated on 2200 meters above the sea level. Ushguli is one of the highest continuously inhabited places in Europe. For its remote location and well-preserved authentic way of life, Ushguli has been included in the World Heritage List by the UNESCO.

The road to Ushguli passes through Svan village of Ipari and Kala, where we can make a stop and take a look at the local medieval churches with old frescos and murals. A short and easy hike to the foothills of Shkhara Glacier is also possible. Shkhara (5068 m) is the highest peak in Georgia and third-highest in Europe. In the evening, we will go back to Mestia.

Batumi Sightseeing Tour

This morning, we will drive to Zugdidi (267 km/166 miles, approx. 5.5 hours) - an administrative center of Samegrelo region, where we are going to visit Dadiani palace and History museum. Palace once served as the residence of Mingrelian noble house of Dadiani. Nowadays complex has museum, court church and botanical garden.

From Zugdidi, we get to Batumi - the capital of Adjara, located on the shore of the Black Sea. On your Batumi City tour, we are going to visit the Piazza Square, statues of Jason & Medea from Greek Mythology, then the moving sculpture of Ali and Nino by Tamara Kvestadze. Finally, we will take a walk along the Batumi Boulevard and enjoy the lights of dancing fountains in the evening. Overnight in Batumi.

Botanical Garden & Gonio Fortress Tour

After breakfast, you will visit a place called Green Cape (50 km / approx.1.5 hours), where the Batumi Botanical Garden is located. The garden is unique for its combinations of species from completely different climatic zones. Continue to the Gonio Fortress - a well-preserved Roman fortification dated back to the 1st c. A.D., located 10 kilometers from Batumi. In the evening, we will return to Batumi.

Rabati Castle & Vardzia Cave Monastery Tour

This morning, depart to Akhaltsikhe (218 km/135 miles, approx. 3 hours) to visit the Rabati Castle. Rabati comprises of a castle from the 14th century, several churches, a mosque, synagogue and a museum. The museum presents old printed books manuscripts, archaeological and numismatic collections, photographic collections, and more. We will continue our exploration of Samtskhe-Javakheti and head to Vardzia Cave Monastery, located at the bank of Mtkvari River. Transfer to Tbilisi with visit to Cathedral & Churches

Today after breakfast, you will depart to Tbilis (160 km/100 miles, approx. 2.5 hours) and start the city tour. First, we will visit the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi (Sameba), one of the tallest Orthodox Christian churches in the world. From Sameba, we move to Metekhi Plateau and Metekhi church built in the 5th century, located on the elevated cliff over the river Mtkvari and the old Tbilisi district. Next, we will move to Narikala, an ancient fortress overlooking Tbilisi from the mountain that can be reached by an aerial cable car form the Rike Park.

From Narikala Fortress, we will stroll down to the old city full of attractions and landmarks: National Botanical Garden of Georgia, Jumah Mosque, Legvtakhevi canyon and waterfall, ending with Abanotubani, the historical sulfur bathhouse district of Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Tbilisi City Tour

Today, we will continue the Tbilisi sightseeing tour by taking a tram to Mtatsminda Mountain and paying a visit to the Mtatsminda Pantheon of Writers and Public Figures. This is the largest necropolis in Tbilisi where many famous writers, scientists, national heroes, and other public figures are buried. From Mtatsminda, we will continue to the Georgian National Museum on Rustaveli avenue. This museum has numerous collections of house artifacts of natural and human history, rich ethnographic and archaeological collections from different historical periods, and more.

Then, we will take a walk along the Rustaveli Avenue, and take a look at the buildings of the Parliament of Georgia, Rustaveli National Theater, and Georgian National Opera and Ballet Theater of Tbilisi. We can also visit the glass Bridge of Peace, Shardeni street and Maidan square, which are full of outdoor cafes, bars, restaurants, souvenir shops and art galleries.

This evening, you may go shopping at one of the biggest shopping centers in Caucasus, the Tbilisi Mall. Located in the center of Tbilisi on Rustaveli avenue, Tbilisi Mall offers a broad range of shops from many famous international brands. You can also find fruit and vegetable markets, banking facilities, a multi-screen cinema and a family entertainment center in the mall.

  • Tbilisi

    Georgia’s ancient and vibrant capital city, Tbilisi spreads out on both banks of the Mtkvari River, surrounded by mountains. Well known for its hot springs and bathhouses, Tbilisi derives from the Old Georgian word “tbili”, meaning warm. Legend has it that Tbilisi was founded by a king who was hunting in the heavily wooded region with a falcon. The king’s falcon injured a pheasant during the hunt and both birds fell into a nearby hot spring, dying from burns. The king was so impressed with the hot springs that he cut down the forest to build a city, Tbilisi.

    The second-largest city In Georgia, Kutaisi, offers visitors quaint, tree-lined streets that stretch down to the banks of the Rioni River, lined with elegant 19th-century buildings and beautifully landscaped parks to stroll. In the Jewish Quarter, many synagogues exhibit the long history of the Georgian Jewish community while the stunning UNESCO site, Bagrati church, attests to the significance of the city.
