Spend your day visiting one of Berlin’s famous museums on Museum Island.

It is a magnificent work of art right in the heart of Berlin—an outstanding ensemble of five world-famous museums. In 1999, the Museum Island complex was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Berlin Wall Bike Tour: Uncovering the Divided History

The Berlin Wall Bike Tour - Private Guided Bike Tour

Discover the Berlin Wall by bike today and learn that it was far more than just a wall - it was also a symbol of misery and the most visible sign of the struggle between two systems.

For almost 30 years, this 160-kilometer-long so-called "death strip" cut through the city and the lives of its people. Few families remained untouched by the division of the city; parents were separated from their children, lovers found themselves on the "wrong" side of the Berlin Wall.

Along the 15 kilometers between Bornholmer Straße and the government district, the bike tour follows both the obvious and hidden remnants of the "Anti-Fascist Protection Rampart." The Berlin Wall bike tour takes you to border checkpoints, and you will also visit the official Berlin Wall Memorial Museum area on Bernauer Straße, where the last remaining, totally intact portion of the Berlin Wall and a guard tower can be seen.

Transfer to/from the starting point of the bike tour is not included. ...read less

The best guides, the best experiences, and the best service in every country

My wife and I have used Yampu 4 or 5 times now to plan our travel for us. They have access to the best guides, the best experiences, and the best service in every country we’ve used them to visit – from Portugal to Cambodia and from Peru to Iceland. This most recent trip to Iceland was perfect. Two days in Reykjavik, where we did a walking tour of the city, a food tour, the Fly Over Iceland experience, and some shopping and relaxing. Then 2 nights at the Retreat Spa – which is a very special experience in itself that is hard to describe – and then two nights in the countryside where our private guide took us to all of the main attractions on the Golden Circle and South Coast. Private guides mean no waiting, front row parking and VIP access everywhere, and wonderful knowledgeable guides without a lot of time herding on and off of buses and going places that may not interest you. It is a bit more expensive, although not as much as you might think, often less than a high end group tour — without the group. Yampu has planned each trip just for us, exactly what we want to do, and not anything we don’t – and it has always worked out great – highly recommend.
