Sliema Harbour Cruise Tour

Today, you will be transferred to Sliema, where a representative will see you onto the boat for the harbour cruise (no guide included).

The Grand Harbour was the base of the Knights of St. John for 268 years and, after their departure, became a strategic base for the British for another 170 years. The area was the scene of much of the fighting in the Great Siege of Malta when the Turks attempted to expel the Knights of St. John. The entire area was heavily bombed during the Second Siege of Malta in World War II, as the piers and military installations around the harbour were legitimate targets for Axis bombers. However, collateral damage destroyed much of Valletta and the Three Cities, causing a large number of civilian casualties.

The harbours and docks are still active, but with the departure of the British Army, the port has lost much of its military significance. After the cruise, you will have free time to explore the harbour area of Sliema on your own and make your own way back to the hotel.

Note: There is a taxi stand at the harbour area, close to where the boat leaves. ...read less

Honeymoon in Italy

Jose planned our Honeymoon to Italy in May 2024. We visited Milan, Portofino, Santa Margherita, Porto Venere, Cinque Terre, Florence, Tuscany and Lake Como. Jose and his team are phenomenal. We really had nothing to worry about. They set up everything. The private tour guides were all very well informed and knowledgeable. Our private transfers were in luxury vehicles with expert drivers, and we were able to rest comfortably. The hotel selections were all in great locations and were perfect. Grand Hotel Portovenere should not be missed if traveling to Portovenere. Jose and his team (Natalia) communicated with us throughout the trip and made everything very easy and smooth. We really appreciate all of your help in planning our perfect honeymoon. Wish we could do it every year! Thank you!

Portugal & Spain and India

Two separate covid-postponed trips with Yampu in 2022. Portugal/Spain in October and India in November. I have been traveling with them since 2016, and these are the additional destinations; South Africa/Zimbabwe/Zambia, Cuba, and Peru. A custom trip is worth it, especially if you are trying to maximize your experience at a destination you’re unfamiliar with and/or is far from your home. They organize just about everything for you in detailed fashion and your job is to enjoy the trip! That said, since nothing is perfect, the couple of times I have a had small issue, it has always been resolved. Communication is very good. You will likely be amazed with how efficient and relaxing a trip can be when it is put together by a travel expert. A helpful hint if you’re going to be a first-time traveler with Yampu; thoroughly read the draft itinerary they send, and if you see something you’d rather not do, or think of something you want to include, just tell them! It’s your custom trip and the beauty of Yampu is they are happy work with you to create the itinerary. 🙂
