Tour Overview

Learn about the country’s rich History in Brazil: Discovering the Cultural Cities, including Rio de Janeiro is known worldwide for the elaborate parades staged by the city’s major samba schools and beautiful beaches, making the city one of Brazil’s major tourist attractions. This Yampu tour will include Rio and other Brazilian destinations full of cultural heritage. We will visit Ouro Preto, Brasilia, and Salvador da Bahia. Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, was built from scratch in only four years, opening in 1960, and is noted for its futuristic architecture. This Yampu trip also includes the amazing Iguazu Falls, a highlight to any Brazilian itinerary.

Prices include domestic air transportation within Brazil, hotel accommodation including daily continental breakfast, all transfers between airports and hotels with assistance and baggage handling, guided tours in English and all entrance fees. Local airport taxes that are payable in the country of destination are not included. Taxes and security fees that can be paid at time of ticketing are already included.

Corcovado

Upon arrival in Rio, reception at airport and transfer to the hotel.
Note: check-in is normally after 2 pm. Early check-in may be granted subject to availability (not confirmed).
Afternoon private tour to Corcovado with private driver and guide. The tour begins in Cosme Velho's neighborhood. The cog train rolls through the Tijuca Forest, the largest urban forest in the world and up to the statue. Once there, enjoy a panoramic and extraordinary view of Rio, including the Sugar Loaf, the Guanabara Bay, the beaches of Southern Zone and the Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon. At the peak of the hill is Christ the Redeemer, the art deco statue of Jesus Christ and icon of Rio. After the visit of the Corcovado, the tour continues to Sao Conrado area with a brief stop at the Pepino beach where one can appreciate hang gliders overhead. Transfer back to the hotel.

The Sugar Loaf

Today enjoy a private Half Day Tour to the Sugar Loaf with private driver/guide.
This tour begins with a stroll through downtown Rio, passing by the Sambodrome, and the Metropolitan Cathedral, in pyramid form, with internal diameter of 96 meters and height of 80 meters. Get to know the traditional Cinelandia square with the historical buildings, the Municipal Theater, the National Library and the National Museum of Fine Arts. By taking the Aterro do Flamengo, one will be taken to the neighborhood of Urca to find one of the largest symbols of the city: The Sugar Loaf. This visit is made in two steps by cable car. The first cable car takes passengers to Urca Hill which is 215 meters high and provides a beautiful view of the Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Rio-Niteroi bridge and Corcovado hill. From this stage, a second cable car will be taken up to the top with 395 meters to find a splendid view of Copacabana beach, the Santa Cruz fortress and some beaches of Niteroi.

Foz do Iguazu

This morning, transfer to the airport to take the flight to Iguazu. Upon arrival at Foz do Iguazu, transfer to the hotel on the Brazil side of the falls. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour to the Brazil side of the falls. The thunderous crash of tons of rushing water against basaltic rocks amidst the jungle of birds, butterflies and orchids will take one’s breath away!

This morning, transfer to the airport to take the flight to Iguazu. Upon arrival at Foz do Iguazu, transfer to the hotel on the Brazil side of the falls. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour to the Brazil side of the falls. Foz do Iguazu; Argentina Side

This morning, guided tour to the Argentina side of the waterfalls, be met at the hotel and transfer to the visitor center inside Iguazu National Park. To get from the visitor center to the beginning of upper path, lower path and Devil's Throat, board a little train that runs from the visitor center to the paths and between each one of them. One may also walk from the visitor center to upper and lower paths, but cannot walk to Devils Throat because it is located more than 4 km from the visitor center.

Great Adventure: This tour combines a jungle trip with a boat trip to the falls. The trip starts in the jungle of the National Park in 4 by 4 trucks without roof for best visibility of the trees and to take good photos. Then, take a zodiac boat to the lower Iguazu River upstream to discover the falls little by little with a panoramic view of the Iguazu Falls. Be prepared to get wet under the falls! This afternoon, return to the hotel.

Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Belo Horizonte. Upon arrival, city tour of Belo Horizonte. Visit the Liberty Square, the Cathedral, the Historic Museum and the Museum of Modern Art. Also visit the Chapel of Sao Francisco, built by Oscar Niemeyer and decorated with paintings by Portinari. After the tour, travel to the city of Ouro Preto, the base for the next 2 nights.

Evening, Bahia by night. Be picked up at 7 pm from the hotel and transfer to Miguel de Santana Theatre to enjoy a folkloric show. See a sample of samba de roda, puxada de rede, maculelę, capoeira (all of them typical Afro-Brazilian dances), and a variety of Bahia candomble dances. After the show enjoy dinner at a typical Brazilian barbecue restaurant. Round-trip transfers included.
