Tour Overview

This Ultimate Brazil Vacation includes a rich cultural experience with three days in Rio de Janeiro to visit Sugar Loaf and Corcovado Mountain with a samba show and dinner. We then travel to the magnificent Iguazu Falls to explore this natural wonder from both the Brazil and Argentina sides. Leaving Iguazu, we will fly to Salvador da Bahia, once the capital of Brazil, today a hotspot for cuisine and culture. Trip ends the city of Manaus in the Amazon Rainforest. We will stay at the Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge, a small and charming hotel that brings together nature and comfort in a subtle and harmonious way.

Prices include domestic air transportation within Brazil, hotel accommodation including daily continental breakfast, all meals and activities at Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge, all transfers between airports and hotels with assistance and baggage handling, guided tours in English including all entrance fees and all meals at Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge. Local airport taxes that are payable in the country of destination are not included. Taxes and security fees that can be paid at time of ticketing are already included.

Upon arrival in Rio, reception at airport and transfer to the hotel.
Note: check-in is normally after 2 pm. Early check-in may be granted subject to availability (not confirmed).
Afternoon private tour to Corcovado with private driver and guide. The tour begins in Cosme Velho's neighborhood. The cog train rolls through the Tijuca Forest, the largest urban forest in the world and up to the statue. Once there, enjoy a panoramic and extraordinary view of Rio, including the Sugar Loaf, the Guanabara Bay, the beaches of Southern Zone and the Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon. At the peak of the hill is Christ the Redeemer, the art deco statue of Jesus Christ and icon of Rio. After the visit of the Corcovado, the tour continues to Sao Conrado area with a brief stop at the Pepino beach where you can appreciate hang glider overhead. Transfer back to the hotel.

The Sugar Loaf

Today, enjoy a private Half Day Tour to the Sugar Loaf with a private driver/guide.
This tour begins with a stroll through downtown Rio, passing by the Sambodrome, and the Metropolitan Cathedral, in pyramid form, with internal diameter of 96 meters and height of 80 meters. Get to know the traditional Cinelandia square with the historical buildings, the Municipal Theater, the National Library and the National Museum of Fine Arts. By taking the Aterro do Flamengo, one will be taken to the neighborhood of Urca to find one of the largest symbols of the city: The Sugar Loaf. This visit is made in two steps by cable car. The first cable car takes passengers to Urca Hill which is 215 meters high and provides a beautiful view of the Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Rio-Niteroi bridge and Corcovado hill. From this stage, a second cable car will be taken up to the top with 395 meters to find a splendid view of Copacabana beach, the Santa Cruz fortress and some beaches of Niteroi.

Rio at Leisure – Rio Scenarium

Day free to enjoy Rio, or choose from one of Yampu’s optional day tours.
Tonight, experience a fantastic show at the Rio Scenarium (this tour does not include dinner). Located in the Lapa area, Rio Scenarium is one of the premier places to listen to the best of Brazilian music, and where the real carioca spirit of bohemian way of life can be felt. The venue is an antique shop during the day, and a live music bar during the night. The programming changes every month. The show ends around midnight.
Note: If one prefers a traditional samba performance on stage, Yampu can include Rio Plataforma. After dinner, enjoy a Brazilian music presentation at the famous Rio Plataforma. Rio Plataforma is one of the premier places to listen to the best of Brazilian music. Please ask a Yampu travel consultant.

Rio – Iguazu

Morning, transfer to the airport to take the flight to Iguazu
Upon arrival at Foz do Iguazu, transfer to the hotel on the Brazil side of the falls. In the afternoon there will be a guided tour to the Brazil side of the falls. The thunderous crash of rushing water against basaltic rocks amidst the jungle of birds, butterflies and orchids will take your breath away!

Morning, guided tour to the Argentina side of the waterfalls. Pick-up at the hotel and transfer to visitor center inside Iguazu National Park. To get from the visitor center to the beginning of upper path, lower path and Devil’s Throat, board a little train that runs from the visitor center to the paths and between each. One may also walk from the visitor center to upper and lower paths, but cannot walk to Devil’s Throat because it is located more than 4 kilometers from the visitor center. Afternoon, Great Adventure: This tour combines a jungle trip with a boat trip to the falls. This trip starts in the jungle of the national park in roofless 4 x 4 trucks. This provides the best visibility of the trees and better photo opportunities. Then, one will take a zodiac boat to the lower Iguazu River upstream to discover the falls little by little with a panoramic view of Iguazu Falls. Be prepared to get wet! Transfer from hotel to pier to board a schooner for a cruise in All Saints Bay, where one can have an unforgettable view of the city of Salvador, the old part of the city, docks and Bonfim Church. Proceed to Frade Island where a stop will be made for swimming and sunbathing. Next stop will be at Itaparica Island for lunch and to visit the Sao Lourenço Fortress and Fonte da Bica (mineral water fountain). Return to Salvador and transfer to the hotel. Lunch is included.

Be picked up at the Manaus hotel for a three-hour van transfer to the Anavilhanas. Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious welcome cocktail followed by a tour of the lodge. Afternoon, departure through the Anavilhanas islands in regional watercraft. Explore the numerous canals (paranas), lakes and islands of the largest river archipelago in the world. Visitors disembark on one of the islands to examine its unique ecosystem, observing regional plant- and wildlife. Dinner at the lodge. After dinner, enjoy some exciting alligator sightseeing! Forest Hike – Piranha Fishing

Early morning breakfast, followed by forest hike. Led by experienced local guides, explore this extensive forest, where it is possible to observe some of the greatest Amazonian mysteries. One will receive information on the trees, wild fruit, herbs as well as jungle survival. The trail can be done entirely on foot, but one can also return to the lodge by a delightful canoe ride. Return for an exquisite Lunch before the next tour. This afternoon, visit the Amazonian dolphins and take on some piranha fishing! Enjoy a delicious Breakfast before visiting a local handicraft studios and naval shipyard in Novo Airao. Next, visit two regional craft centers where one can see the work of local craftsmen in their workplace. Later on, visit a shipyard of regional wooden watercraft. After lunch, depart to Manaus and transfer to the airport to take the flight home.
