Private Full Day Beto Cocoa Plantation Tour

After breakfast, we will head over to Taboquinhas to visit another local cocoa plantation developed by small farmers where you can try your hand at making your own chocolate.

Walking from the Active Base to the cocoa plantation of a small farmer in the neighborhood, you will learn about the cocoa culture.

From the harvest of the fruit, we will continue with the traditional process, breaking the hard shell and manually extracting the seeds to deposit them inside a wooden box. Then our guide prepares the seeds, wrapped with pulp, by pressing gently until they release a liquid called cocoa honey. We experience this delicacy described by its discoverers as "a nectar of the gods". Afterwards, we toast and peel the seeds manually to then be beaten on the pylon and bring the cocoa mass to the wood stove. We mix it with other ingredients and mix the dough in the pot to finally get the real chocolate. Then we just have to wait for it to cool down to taste this delight. We take the opportunity and pack some samples to take home.

After lunch, we go visit a small artisanal chocolate factory. Here we will learn about the stages of manufacturing as well as the equipment to break the seed and the small stone mills that rotate for hours to make fine chocolate. We will do a direct tasting of the milling. Next to the factory we will visit a store with the delicious products of the factory.

Finally, we return to our hotel in Serra Grande.

A fantastic trip – could not have happened without your hard work

As this trip comes to an end Adina and I wanted to take this opportunity to personally thank you for all your hard work. Your planning and organization were superb. Most hotels were above our expectations with the last hotel in Cuzco being the crown jewel. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly.
To conclude it was a fantastic trip and could not have happened without your hard work.

An unforgettable trip

It was an unforgettable trip. We were very blessed with good weather. Some days we had rain but we managed to get nice photos with the sunshine too.

I have shared with my friends who are planning to go to Peru in October.

and I absolutely loved it

Thank you for a great trip! Merida is definitely a must see! A beautiful city! I felt completely safe and even went out in the evening to see the beautiful folkloric show at the town center. The central location of the Hotel del Gobernador was a really good choice! Everybody was very friendly , punctual and knowledgable. I really enjoyed Celestun and the tour into the estuary, the guide stopped for me in little towns along the way to Celestun to show me real life in villages in Yucatan. The tour through the swamp was interesting and super fun, because my guide had a very good knowledge about the wildlife and nature there. My Hotel in Cancun was sweet, very clean and friendly and the food in the Palapa was pretty good. I wanted a beach view so I decided to upgrade and it was well worth it. It is a great Hotel for familys with little kids so next time I probably would have picked a bigger Hotel like the Iberostar since I traveled by myself. However there was nothing wrong with The Kin Ha Beachscape , it is just more for familys and couples, good location for shopping. As always you guys were great in organizing everything for me and I felt very safe and well taken care of! Everybody was so surprised that I decided to go to Mexico by myself but I had full confidence in your company to make everything go smooth for me . I love that your company takes pride in making trips unique and knows how to customize . I went to Brazil with Yampu Tours a few years ago and my friend and I absolutely loved it! Keep up the good work and your customers have no other choice than to fall in love with the people and the countries they travel to!
