Tour Overview

For a romantic honeymoon in Colombia, explore the historical and agricultural depths of Colombia while also taking time to relax and enjoy island luxuries. You will start your romantic journey in Bogota, Colombia’s capital set in the Andes at more than 8,000 feet. Spend your time touring historical neighborhoods and enjoying spectacular views of the city and mountains. Climb below the earth for an unforgettable visit to the Zipaquira’s Underground Salt Cathedral. Enjoy your stay in colonial style accommodations while walking the streets of the town of Barichara. You will take an incredible cable car ride over the Chicamocha Canyon for a taste of the world’s best coffee at Hacienda El Roble.

The next part of your trip will bring you to the romantic town of Cartagena. Experience the colonial era within the historical city streets and with a horse-drawn carriage ride. You will witness the old fortresses around the city while taking in the sunset on a sailboat in the Cartagena bay before leaving for Providencia Island. An intimate excursion isn’t complete without an island getaway. Enjoy special dinners, beach tours, and snorkeling around Providencia’s clear turquoise waters.

This guided visit to the Colombian capital starts in the Plaza de Bolivar (the city's main square), surrounded by federal government buildings, and continues into the old colonial part of the city better known as "La Candelaria” where one will see the San Francisco Church, and the Gold Museum (closed on Mondays). The tour finishes with a trip in a cable car to the top of the Monserrate Hill, which offers a spectacular view of the city. In the evening, drive out at sunset towards the mountains and the secluded village of "La Calera" just on the outskirts of the city. From selected lookout points called "miradores", appreciate Bogota's spectacular sea of lights.

In the morning, be met for an overland transfer to Zipaquira to visit the fully functioning Salt Cathedral, a unique building constructed approximately 120 meters underground in a former salt mine! Half Day City Tour of Barichara

After breakfast, visit the colonial treasures of Barichara. Afterwards, walk on the stone path to Guane, a small town named after the indigenous who lived here. A German Engineer, Geo von Lengerke, built the path about two centuries ago. In Guane, visit the Archeological Museum.
For the rest of the day travelers can enjoy free time to take in the unique atmosphere of this great city.

After breakfast, travel towards the north to the Chicamocha Canyon. Travelers will cross the Canyon by cable car arriving to "Mesa de los Santos" right on the other site of the Canyon. Here visit the "Hacienda El Roble" an authentic Coffee Hacienda which produces one of the world’s best Coffees. Get to know the Hacienda as well as the whole Coffee growing process. In the afternoon continue to Bucaramanga to spend the evening.

After breakfast check out, and transfer to the airport in Bucaramanga for the flight to Cartagena de Indias. Upon arrival in Cartagena, transfer to a pleasant hotel located within the walled city.
In the evening, experience the colonial era with a tour in horse-drawn carriages and admire the beauty of Cartagena. Enjoy the walled city and its balconies illuminated by lanterns. Entertain your imagination with the marvelous stories of each of the streets of the Old City, narrated by the carriage driver, and conclude this romantic evening in one of the best restaurants in the Old City, "Brujas de Cartagena", where you can enjoy typical live music every weekend accompanied with a pisco sour and an exquisite Peruvian menu.
