Grand Granada City Tour

Excursion

Excursion to Granada, the third-oldest city in the Western Hemisphere. Granada was founded in 1524 by Spanish captain Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba. Although often overwhelmed by pirates, destroyed during civil wars and set on fire by the American filibuster William Walker in 1856, it remains one of the most beautiful cities in Nicaragua. In the afternoon, Visit the city in a traditional horseback carriage, pulled by two horses and conducted by a local driver. The tour will start by heading to La Casa de los tres mundos: art gallery, and a cultural academy. Stop by the convent of San Francisco church, built in 1529, it is stunningly decorated with elegant paintings, and pre- Columbian statues from Zapatera Island. Visit Iglesia la Merced to hike up the tower for some of the greatest views of the city. Next, all aboard at the recently restored old train station, located in front of Sandino Park. The final stop to make on today’s extensive list is at La Polvora. This old fort was once where the Spanish stored dynamite and weapons in the 17th and 18th century to face the attacks of English and French pirates. End this busy and fun filled day with a relaxed boat ride on the beautiful islands of Lake Nicaragua. Lunch included. Overnight in Granada. less

Thank you very much for organizing a most successful overland trip through central-america.

I returned home safe and sound on Sunday. Thank you very much for organizing a most successful overland trip through central-america. I am thinking seriously about a third overland trip through south-america in the next year or so. Thank you again for arranging a very successful and most enjoyable itinerary. I will contact you again in the next couple of months about similar trips through south-america and the Caribbean.

Just wanted to let you know that we have had a fabulous time

Just wanted to let you know that we have had a fabulous time and are very impressed with your choice of hotels and areas. Because of this we would like to book through you a trip to Nicaragua for Dec 26,2013 for one week. All hotels were able to accommodate my dietary needs. We especially loved Lake Attilan and the hotel there. The guides were excellent except for the guide we had in Tikal. His name was Roni and he didn’t consider our needs but had his own agenda. After repeated requests for lunch, he delayed serving us lunch both days until 3PM. The trip to the temples was excellent in spite of him. He went into too much detail and his English was very hard to understand. The first day when arriving in Flores airport, we felt that we could have gone directly to the nature park, instead of driving 45minutes to the hotel, then a 45minute boat ride back to almost where we started to begin the walk. Otherwise the vacation was perfectly organized and I would like to thank you for that, Look forward to your proposal for Niaragua with top hotels. Happy New Year
