Group Safari Quad Tour to Reykjavik Peak and Whale Watching

You don't have to go far to experience thrill and excitement! Hop on one of our quad bikes located just ten minutes outside Reykjavik city and speed across the beautiful countryside.

The tour takes you all the way up to a mountain top where you see a panoramic view of Reykjavik and the surrounding mountain ridge.

On a clear day you can even see Snaefellsjokull glacier, 100 kilometers away on the other side of the bay, famous for being the entrance to Earth's centre in Jules Verne's "Journey to the Centre of the Earth"! The bikes are easy to operate so you can just focus on the fun!

At our base camp you'll get all the equipment you need along with careful instructions from our experienced guides.

After your ATV experience join an unforgettable whale watching adventure out at sea to see the world of whales and sea birds.

Iceland is frequently mentioned amongst the top 10 whale watching spots in the world and Reykjavik has become the whale watching capital of Northern Europe.

The ship, or the rib safari boat, depart from the downtown Reykjavik harbour, sailing around the bay to search for the area's underwater residents. These include minke whales, white-beaked dolphins, harbour porpoises and the popular humpback whales.

Sea birds in the area include puffins, gannets, guillemots, arctic terns and many more. The whale watching season begins in April and continues through August. Although trips are organized in wintertime, sightings of whales and seabirds are much rarer during that time.

Private South Coast Tour

The south coast of Iceland is a magical area filled with adventure opportunities. Vast black lava beaches as far as the eye can see, majestic waterfalls, rugged rock formations and enchanting glacier tongues, all within an arm's reach. With the Atlantic Ocean to the south and a huge ice cap to the north, as well as two mighty glacier rivers to the east and west, the scenery is simply breathtaking and is one of Iceland's best road trips.

Your private tour means that the day will be fully tailored to your interests, and no two south coast tours are exactly alike. However, there are certain signature attractions you can expect to see. Perhaps the most well known is Reynisfjara beach, widely considered to be the most beautiful examples of Iceland's black sand beaches. As you walk along the jet black sand, you will immediately spot the Reynisdrangar rocky sea stacks which, according to legend, are trolls turned to solid stone at sunrise as they tried to drag ships from the ocean to the shore. You will also visit the charming coastal village of Vik i Myrdal, whose picturesque church enjoys glorious ocean views. Nearby is Dyrholaey; a 120m (400 ft)-high natural rock arch also serves as a bird sanctuary, and every summer, thousands of visitors and birdwatchers alike flock here to observe puffins in their natural habitat. You can also expect to see some of Iceland's most impressive waterfalls, including Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss, where you'll find a winding staircase leading to the top of the falls, offering a birds' eye view of this natural marvel.

Places You'll See

  • Keflavik

Serving as the main starting point for international travelers arriving via Keflavik International Airport, Keflavik serves as the perfect introduction to Iceland. Much smaller than Iceland’s capital of Reykjavik, Keflavik was founded as a fishing port and fish processing center. Come World War II, the tiny fishing village became home to an important allied military base that is now Iceland’s international airport. Visitors will appreciate the quaint atmosphere, numerous museums including Viking World, and the Icelandic Museum of Rock N Roll.

  • Reykjavik

The perfect starting point of any Iceland itinerary is the country’s capital, Reykjavík. both cosmopolitan and small-town, Reykjavík is a flourishing city with a long history with many monuments new and old throughout its center. Admire the striking, modern Hallgrimskirkja church and trace back the Island’s Viking history at the National and Saga museums. No trip to Iceland is complete without a long soak at the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa, just outside of the city.

  • Grindavik

Located on the southern end of the geothermal Reykjanes Peninsula is the small fishing village of Grindavik. Home to the Iceland’s largest attraction, the Bllue Lagoon geothermal spa, Grindavik welcomes travelers from around the globe. Aside from relaxing at the lagoon, adventurers can enjoy the region’s gorgeous landscape via ATVs or horseback riding, fishing and trekking

Everything went smoothly

Everything went smoothly. We were very pleased with Cecil, our guide in Rio, and India, our guide in Iguazu. Also in Iguazu, the driver, Aloisio(?), was a delightful guy. The day trip to Petropolis was very pleasant. We had a truly outstanding meal, one of the best in Brazil (and we ate at DOM in Sao Paulo and other top restaurants there), at the Leopoldina in the lovely Solar do Imperio Hotel. The best thing about the Porto Bay, by far, was the Copacabana location and the roof deck with spectacular views. Otherwise, the rooms were very plain and the Internet was costly and the connection was quite poor. We liked the Santa Teresa neighborhood and the hotel was great. Unfortunately, there were a couple of holidays and some closings of good spots with the best views. We can recommend a little seafood place near the hotel, Sobre Natural.Iguazu was stunning. Das Cataratas a super place. We liked being able to walk to the Falls just outside the hotel. The day trek and zodiac on the river was a fun adventure. Happy to answer any questions happy to recommend our itinerary and Yampu.
