Private transfer to Pacaya Volcano. Located just outside Guatemala City, Pacaya Volcano rises to 2,552 meters (8,373 feet) and is one of the three active volcanoes in Guatemala.
After being dormant for a period, it has been active since 1965. A short hour-long drive from Antigua brings you to the Pacaya National Park. Hike along the 2-mile trail that climbs through farmland and pine forest, reaching an exposed ridge with panoramic views of the smoking black cone and surrounding volcanoes.
The hike continues across the barren lava flows, where you’ll have the chance to roast marshmallows over hot spots. Enjoy a picnic lunch with a view of the volcano's crater from a safe distance (climbing to the crater’s top is not permitted by national park regulations).

Everything went as planned, and we were able to meet-up with my sister, and even got to attend two of her quartet concerts! It was a very enjoyable and memorable experience! We would like to express our appreciation for all of the hard work that you and your staff performed on our behalf. We found Guatemala to be a wonderful place to visit inasmuch as we were able to see such beautiful scenery and nature juxtaposed against the terrible current and after effects on a society that has endured such tragedies as civil wars, foreign incursions (from America, etc.) and yet, despite it all, we experienced nothing but graciousness and warmth from the Guatemalan people we met.
