Yampu co-founder, Monica Irauzqui, was interviewed while at industry event, TravelMart LatinAmerica, on exciting new options she’s added to Yampu’s customized tours.
Apaneca-El-Salvador-ZipliningI was looking for and found many exciting options to connect our clients with meeting people and giving back in our destinations,” says Monica Irazqui, v.p. of Yampu Tours.

We are always in the market for off-the-beaten-path adventure itineraries,” she ads. “I am, for instance, very excited about El Salvador, a small country with great artisan visits, coffee areas, hiking and ziplining around volcanoes, Mayan sites, beautiful villages, modern communities living in holistic ways, and beaches.”

And Irauzqui is wildly enthusiastic about food — as a special interest focus in Latin America, and she points out, “We have a 10-day Culinary Tour of Peru; however, we can offer culinary touring in almost every country we sell. Sometimes we may do that instead of a city tour if the client wants something different: going to a market, then preparing a meal in a chef’s kitchen, adding wine touring, and food and wine pairing when appropriate. Clients can take pisco sour classes, learn to make empanadas in Mendoza, cheese in Ecuador, caipirinhas in Brazil, or chocolate in Belize.Pisco_Sour_drink
