Our Newest Journey: Argentina and Chile Through Our Travelers’ Eyes

“Oh my gosh Stephanie, we had a wonderful time!”

From the very first words, this review captures what Yampu journeys are all about. Their custom trip through Argentina and Chile blended culture, cuisine, and comfort, from Buenos Aires’ vibrant neighborhoods and café-lined streets to Mendoza’s world-class wines and Santiago’s rich history. Every detail was thoughtfully curated to create a seamless, personal experience.

Oh my gosh Stephanie, we had a wonderful time! All of the hotels you chose for us were perfect and in great locations. We always felt so safe and had a great time checking out all of the nearby sidewalk cafes and restaurants. Buenos Aires was amazing and was everything I thought I would be. I loved how European it felt and how every neighborhood made you feel like you were in your favorite cities. I absolutely loved the Tango Show and cemetery. Our favorite neighborhood was San Telmo and we spent our free day exploring boutiques, the Central Mercado (again💃) and our favorite restaurant/bar called Atis. It was this cool old convent with beautiful tiles and architecture. Our guides were super fun and knowledgeable. We lucked out with our hotel having a resident cat named Mataba which we fell in love with!

Mendoza was like a dream and a great resting place. Entre Cielos was exactly like heaven. The spa treatment was fabulous and we had lots of laughs seeing who could stay in the hot rooms the longest. Both wine tours were gorgeous and the food at Quimera was to die for. We love their sommelier, Felipe, too. Lourdes at Viña Cabos was delightful and the wines superb!

Santiago was such a great mix of old and new. Our tour guide the first 2 days, Ben, was the best guide I have ever had. He was both incredibly knowledgeable about the history and politics and he was tons of fun. *Definitely try to book him for any future trips you may have. Matetic Winery was also fabulous! We spent the whole day there dining, drinking and touring the beautiful property. Our tour guide, Belen, was delightful. We spent our last morning climbing Santa Lucia Hill which was beautiful. We also really enjoyed the museums. La Chascona was an unexpected treat too.

Return to South America: Chile and Argentina

The team at Yampu listened to what I wanted and expected this trip to be. They came up with an itinerary and asked for approval and any recommendations. They made great suggestions for lodgings, excursions and trip management. By the time we traveled they had all details finalized and ready for our arrival in each leg of the trip. The only hiccup we had during the trip was due to the effects of the government shutdown on air travel. Yampu responded quickly and efficiently to adapt to the change. We were left with absolutely no worries or concerns. Yampu supported any questions or concerns we had throughout our travels. We had wonderful accommodations (Patagonia Camp and El Puma Lodge especially), breathtaking excursions with amazing guides, and flawless transportation both in the air and on the ground. Absolutely no problems transiting from Chile to Argentina. Couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable experience. Kudos to Yampu for their courtesy, professionalism, attention to detail and adaptability. We’ve traveled with Yampu twice now and I look forward to their help with future trips. Highly recommended!

Yampu Tours and Monica knocked it out of the park! My Wife and I had such a good time in Thailand it was a once in a lifetime trip for us. As for the hotels they chose we were very pleased, every place was unique and clean and the staff were very nice and accommodating. All of our guides were amazing and friendly and knowledgable. The speed boat trip to James Bond island and the elephants in chiang mai were hands down the best highlights of the whole trip. We really appreciate that Monica was able to work within our budget and I don’t think we could’ve had a better time.

Trip Of A Lifetime

I don’t know where to begin. My parents took a Yampu trip to Peru 15 years ago and never stopped raving about it. My husband and I finally had the chance and we are so glad we did. Jose & his team were constantly available during the planning phase. Accommodated our requests gave up exactly what we were hoping for. Things I didn’t expect during our trip was how VIP we were treated. There were upgrades in hotels that we didn’t even know about, the guides and drivers were all delightful and excited to teach us. I had a strange request related to my career and the team was able to pull it off for me, even better than I had hoped for. Something I must say is that I have never taken a trip coordinated by a third party. I have traveled much through my life, and every other time my family planned the trips. There’s something to be said about giving that work away and letting someone else deal with those headaches. Coordinating rides, calculating schedules, meals, figuring out which places are the most important to visit… Yampu shouldered all of that and I was MUCH less stressed before the trip. I definitely recommend Yampu, especially if you are going someplace super different and unfamiliar. Or if you are not a fan of coordinating lots of tiny details. Or if you want to feel like royalty while on your trip 🙂
