Great tours don’t just happen with the snap of your fingers, they are the result of the collaboration and ideas of many team members working together to create imaginative, tailor-made experiences for our travelers. Of all those working to make these adventures possible, our tour designers are responsible for building the foundation that the rest of a tour’s details can be expanded upon. Training and Support Supervisor
Samuel is known around the office for his contagious sense of humor, but also for his hard work supporting our tour consultants and the craftsmanship involved in creating Yampu experiences!

Title: Training and Support Supervisor
Hometown: Bristol, UK
Time at Yampu: 2 years

Q: What is the best vacation you’ve been on?
A: I spent a couple of months exploring the South West of England with my wife. We slept under the stars on the beach, explored secret coves and wandered gleefully down tiny countryside lanes. We also stopped at cozy little pubs for beer and fish & chips – all while camping in farmers’ fields and on blustery moorlands –  and we did it all on a ridiculously low budget. It was an incredible summer!

Q: Before working at Yampu Tours, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
A: When I was 18, I took a bus from London to Tossa de Mar in Spain for fun. I found a job cleaning boats and tents on the beach and my boss let me sleep in the Kayak storage shed for the summer. It was a riot!

Q: When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: I honestly wanted to be a peacock. I remember my mother telling me I could be anything I wanted and in a charming, childhood naivety, I thought: “I think I’ll be a peacock.” 🦚
